2009 Dodge Challenger R/T Review

This seems within horizon, as Chrysler hopes to deliver with two new versions of the 2009 Dodge Challenger Coupe. Just a month old, after its debut at Chicago Auto Show, in the form of the Top line Dodge Challenger SRT8. Its salient features include 6.1 liter,425 horsepower Hemi V-8, costing a whopper $37,995, making it beyond the reach of the masses.

However, to compensate the brunt of soaring oil prices & economy crunch, Chrysler has come out with SE & R/T editions, making it affordable for a sizable section of the market.

The SE is the base model, with prices beginning as low as $20,000. For the money, one gets the same basic body, including hood scoops the SRT edition, but with a 3.5liter V-6, under the hood. The downsized powertrain still makes a solid 250 horsepower and 250 pounds of torque, delivering a healthy 25mpg on the highway.

The Dodge Challenger SE is a musical extravaganza, for the buyers, with its 276 watt Boston Acoustics audio system, Which can be transformed to a Mygig hard drive system for storing thousands of tunes on board. In-dash navigation is one of the best of the technologies available.

And if this does not satisfy your appetite, then go hunt for the 2009 Dodge Challenger, which features the standard, 5.7 liter version of the 298lb-ft of torque. Chrysler officials claim the Hemi will deliver five percent better fuel economy than in previous products.

And wait…, the real news is the return of a Pistol Grip stick shift which will be offered in the R/T & SRT8 versions of 2009 Dodge Challenger. Its part of the new Track option package which includes accessories such as metal pads.

Dodge has loaded up the R/T loads of features, such as anti-lock brakes, traction control, and stability control, as well as front and side curtain airbags, five-link rear suspension, giving the buyers a true value for their money.

The R/T is expected to become the highest grosser version of the 2009 Dodge Challenger line-up.
